Carrie Ruth Trumbo trained at the Orlando Ballet School and was offered a traineeship with Charlotte Ballet in 2008. The following year, she joined Tulsa Ballet’s second company where she spent two seasons before being promoted to the main company in 2011.
In 2012, Trumbo joined Ballet Des Moines for its inaugural season, where she performed soloist roles in a variety of works. Then she danced with American Contemporary Ballet in Los Angeles before joining Oklahoma City Ballet in 2016.
Trumbo’s repertoire includes works by Twyla Tharp, Ronald Hynd, Ben Stevenson, Ma Cong, Marcello Angelini, and John Cranko. With Oklahoma City Ballet, she has performed in Agnes de Mille’s Rodeo, Septime Webre’s ALICE (in wonderland), and Robert Mills’ The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and The Means to Fly. She was also featured in George Balanchine’s The Four Temperaments and Serenade.
